Khan was born on 7 January 1967 in Rajasthan to a Muslim family in the Pathan dynasty. Khan’s mother, Saida Begum Khan, was from Jodhpur, and her father, Yasin Ali Khan, was from the village Khajuria in Tonk district, Rajasthan, and ran a tire business. He spent his childhood in Tonk and then in Jaipur.
